About Medical Home Care
When you’re facing an eldercare dilemma, the last thing you need is to worry whether you’re getting biased advice and information. Smart caregivers maintain a healthy skepticism about any guidance they receive, constantly asking, “Can I really trust this, or is it designed to sell me something?”
Because our business was founded on our own caregiving experience, we know how important such questions are. In fact, our business depends on the ongoing trust and confidence of caregivers. That’s why we take pains to ensure that helping caregivers and their families live healthier, happier lives remains our guiding principle.
Toward that goal, we strive to provide caregivers with free access to the broadest possible range of worthwhile eldercare information. To do so, we combine our own content with material from many other unbiased sources.
Our story
Our commitment to caregivers can be traced to the roots of our business in the late 1990s. Inspired by his own family’s experience with disability, Kevin Sypniewski founded AssistGuide in 1998 to help families find the eldercare and disability information they needed.
Sypniewski and his team began by building websites for small care providers in Hawaii. As these providers came online, AssistGuide tied them together with a unified portal, the first of its kind. Hawaiians facing care challenges now had a single resource for easier access to affordable services as well as the information they needed to make tough decisions.
Since then, we’ve worked with a wide range of businesses, government agencies, and insurance providers nationwide. We serve employers by educating their employees about long term care and their financial options.
In 2006, AssistGuide changed its name to Medical Home Care and moved its headquarters to San Ramon, California, to begin preparing for the launch of the Medical Home Care website.
As the Medical Home Care Network circle continues to grow, we retain our original focus: helping people face and embrace the challenges of aging. We look forward to earning and maintaining your trust.
So how do we make money?
Medical Home Care makes money from advertising, partnerships, and sponsorships. These relationships are kept strictly separate from the content and search results that appear on our site, and any company that becomes a partner, sponsor, or advertiser is clearly identified as such.
We do not endorse, nor do we have any financial interest in, any provider listed in our search results. We do not accept payment from providers seeking to improve their placement in search results. For us, these rules are not just a matter of principle -- they’re business necessities.
